The Benefits of On-Location Photography

Almost every client I talk to tells me they wish they had more frameable portraits of their kids. Even I, the professional photographer frequently worry over not taking enough pictures of my daughter Olive (who is seeming to grow up at lightspeed). Life gets busy, and it's easy to forget about taking time to create tangible memories of moments, periods and phases in your families lives.

On-location photography is a fun lighthearted way to capture memories with your family. The beauty of it being that everyone is free to dress casually, be themselves and have a great time. All while creating images that will shared for generations to come.

I recently had the pleasure of joining the Mahajan family on a family outing to Downtown DC. It was a gorgeous morning, beautiful clouds and just the right amount of sunlight. They are moving away from the area soon and were hoping to capture images to remember their time in the area. We had a great time and got some wonderful images that I hope they will enjoy decades from now.

Mahajan-9 It was early so The Lincoln Memerial wasn't very crowded yet, which was nice. We got some gorgeous images under Lincoln's second inaugural address.

Mahajan-13 The clean walls of the monuments gave us an instant white backdrop.

Mahajan-21 Yes! This was also a maternity shoot. Little sis listening in.

Mom and Dad pop out the magic cell phone to distract a grumpy 2 year old with a favorite song. She's showing me the dance she made up to it all by herself.

Hiring an on-location photographer to join you for a day out doing an activity you love is a great way to capture creative, modern, family portraits!
